This is a fan-freakin-tastic book. I think Leo will help me demonstrate.
Yeah, that was my reaction to the book.
And that's pretty impressive because I typically don't enjoy books involving wolves or shifters. Truth be told, I think I only really liked this book because of Taryn.
The plot is minor, Taryn is a latent wolf shifter - who's in a shitty situation. She's been forced into mating with an asshole, one who wants to kill her very fiery spirit. Trey, an alpha male, is also in a bind. He's looking for an alliance between his pack and Taryn's pack.
Trey decides to become mates with Taryn. And from there it's a tale of passion, friendship, betrayal and humor.
So yeah, the humor:
"I don't mean to sound condescending - that means talking down to someone...""Come here and we can avoid all this."
"I'd rather lie under an elephant suffering from diarrhea with my mouth wide open.""She's one of those people who are like Slinkies."
"Slinkies?"
"Yeah. Basically useless, but they make you smile when you push them down the stairs.”
Trey is pretty awesome too. He's kind of a dick, but a loveable dick in the long run. They make a good match and their relationship is well created.
I did however hate the group thing - I can see why it was removed in newer additions. It was so out of place and completely out of character for almost everyone.
There was nothing completely new but it was an engaging read, I stayed up way too late to finish.

Worth it.
